Quick Verdict
The LG G4 has a huge 5.5 inch screen that actually borders on the phablet category. Some may consider this too bulky but it’s actually a very good size for a phone. The screen has excellent brightness and contrast which makes viewing videos, photos and playing games a visual treat.

Despite the leather back, the phone is made of plastic which makes it look cheap. However, it’s what it can do that counts and boy, does this phone deliver. It’s main draw is its 16MP camera that takes excellent pictures and videos. Couple that with a lightning quick processor and a price that is much cheaper than its main competitor – the Samsung Galaxy S6 and you’ve got a winner in your hands. It’s one of the best handheld gadgets of 2015.

  1. Keep the reviews coming! Compared to the S7, which absolutely destroys the competition for the best smartphone, this seems to target the middle end of the market. $300 price for this performance is too good to miss. I’m surprised that the camera has greater MP than the S7. I wonder as to why that is?

  2. I’ve never understood that a phone is made out of plastic as being a con. I suppose it breaks easier? I have a plastic phone and when I looked up the reviews of it that was the biggest criticism of it. I’ve had it for a year now, have been super rough to it and I’m having no problem. Great review, though!

  3. I love the design and the leather back and I had considered buying it but after reading the reviews concerning the mediocre/low battery life, I decided against it. I still think it’s a really cool phone and it has an affordable price but I consider battery life very important. I don’t want to own a cool phone but having to keep it almost always plugged in.

  4. Not a fan of the leather looking back.
Anything a bit unique with styling dates quicker than sticking with standard looking materials.
Glancing around at prices is the big put off
