The Codex Silenda is a combination of a book and a puzzle conceptualized by designer Brady Whitney. The codex has a bit of a fictional backstory about Da Vinci creating the device which was intended to make it difficult for spies to read his message.
Being the holder of the Codex Silenda, you’ll have to solve the puzzles presented in each page in order to read Da Vinci’s message.
The Codex Silenda only consists of five pages. However, each page is an intricate puzzle which the readers should interact with and solve in order to move on to the next page.
According to the maker of the codex, As the reader moves through the book, a story begins to unfold, depicting the tale of an apprentice in Da Vinci’s Workshop who encounters the same Codex. It eventually becomes the reader’s task to solve the puzzles. Here are the five puzzles up close:
The Geneva Gears
The Paradox Sliders
The Rotating Maze
The Cryptex Clock
The Mechanical Iris
The project is currently being funded by Kickstarter and has already raised more than $150,000.
